To date ARC Power has installed numerous mini-grid solar solutions to many rural communities in Rwanda, providing sustainable generation, distribution and customer care for first time power provision.
This power provision facilitates the work carried out by Empowering Villages – a charity that focuses on unlocking development and tackling poverty through increased access to modern utilities.
Working in close partnership with Empowering Villages, we have been able to help empower communities to achieve lifestyle improvements and productive use goals.
Empowering Villages provides basic business and entrepreneurial skills training for community members along with access to loans for the electric appliances they will need to make their business a success.
To date plans are in place for businesses centred around welding, tailoring, a honey farming Cooperative and Irembo (government access) agent to join the business community on our grid.
